Maybe you had a file open at one time that was one a floppy so the file
history still lists that path. Just a guess. You could find the MRU
(most recently used) list for the app in the registry, or just open more
files until the file history pushed out the one to the floppy.

Here are some of the most common causes of floppy disk access,
1:Anti-virus program set to scan on boot or at a pre-determined
interval
2:Office FindFast(useless piece of software).Remove correctly/details
on request.
3:Recent documents history: Over the clock/Right
click/Properties/Startmenu programs/clear.
4:Windows98/Control panel/System/Performance/File System/Floppy disk
uncheck the search for new floppy disk option.
5:Check this article/
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q136/2/14.asp
6:Boot floppy seek enabled in the BIOS.(if you are unfamiliar with the
bios go here,

7:Internet History/downloads
Clear.bat off here will clear most of these easily,
