FBWF problem : ODBC Repair deletes database file

Peter

Hey,

we are running a XPe installation with enabled FBWF. A database file is
excluded from the FBWF. If I run the "repair" command from the ODBC setup
dialog on this database-file, the file disappears.
The Repair command used is : ControlPanel /ODBC/System-DSN, choose the
database and press "configure", then press "repair".
If I disable the FBWF and run the "repair" command on the database file, the
file will remain where it is and gets a new time stamp.

Does anyone has any idea what the Repair command of the ODBC setup dialog is
really doing in the background?
My fear is that for the repair result a new file is created. After a
successful repair the original database-file is deleted and the new repaired
one is renamed to the original filename. This may not work with the FBWF
activated and the database excluded.

Thank's for any info.

What does that mean ? Why do you think the Temp folder is a problem when the
FBWF is activated ?
Isn't it possible to copy a file from the Temp folder into another folder
when the FBWF is activated ?
Or isn't it possible to rename a file that is protected by the FBWF to a
name of a file that is excluded from the FBWF ?

Now I found out the real problem.
The ODBC driver creates a new file in some tmp folder. The old file will be
deleted. The new file will be moved and renamed to the original place.
The problem now is that is seems to be forbidden to rename a file to a name
that is listed in the exclusion list of the FBWF.
There is no way to rename a file to become the excluded file.
And it does not matter if the new file is also excluded or not.

Is there any way around this problem? So to rename a file that it will
become a file that is listed in the exclusion list of the FBWF?
