faxing

can anybody help i am pullling my hair out.
i have configured the fax console on my computer which is
great but whenever i try to send a fax through my modem
(aztech) i get a answer taht the line is busy, even when
it is not, i have uninstalled,reinstalled checked phone
lines you name it i have done it, but i still cannot send
faxes could i be missing something simple. any advice
would be helpful thanks in advance
 
Are you using the modem for a dial-up connection at the time? If so, then yes the modem is busy.

Does the modem work correctly for other uses? If not, or unable to tell because you are not using the modem for anything else, try uninstalling the modem from Control Panel - System, then use Detect New Hardware to reinstall it.

Other than that, look at the number you are trying to dial to make sure it is correct. If the number is in your same area code, and your area code requires you to include the area code for local calls, check to make sure it is being dialed that way.
