Faxing with a distribution list?

At work, we frequently send out press releases to local media outlets. Some
we send out via email and some we send out via fax. The email with
distribution list works great. However, faxing with a distribution list is
non-existent. Our phone systems are centrex, which means we have to dial "9"
to get an outside line. So, I've set up all the fax entries as: "9,
xxx-xxxx". When I pick just an individual person to fax it works fine.
However, when I use the distribution list, it automatically adds and dials a
"1" before actually dialing the fax number. For example, the number that
actually gets dialed is "1, 9, xxx-xxxx". How do I fix this? Or what do I
have to do to get the fax distribution list working correctly??

Help...anyone??

About the only thing that would work is if you configured a dialing rule to
handle the dialing correctly and then configured your Fax numbers so you
invoke the dialing rule:
Make sure that the phone number to which you are sending the fax is in
"international format" or "canonical format". Details on how to use
international format to invoke dialing rules are available here:
