Fax using broadband router

I have WinXP and Outlook 2000.

How can I send a fax using a broadband router? Outlook 2000 tries to
install Symantec Fax Starter Edition and prompts me to install a modem -
which is not available on my machine. If I try to use Fax from
Accessories/Communications I get the same problem.

Is it possible to configure either fax programs to recognise my router?

Thanks

Not possible. A fax needs a phone line and a data modem. Without that,
you can't do it. That said, if faxing is important to you, don't buy a
cheap software based internal modem. Get an external one that costs at
least $40. Creative has some nice ones.

Thanks - I subsequently found the Windows Fax forum and read several articles
that confirm it's not possible to use broadband with standard software.
