Fax just sits in outbox

Using service pack 1. I have already connected with my
dail up connection. I print to fax, complete the wizard,
and get no visual indication of any kind.
I open the fax console, and my fax is in the outbox with
status "Pending."
The event log shows no errors.
How to I get my fax out the door?
 
When you say already connected? Do you mean you connected to your ISP [on
line] then tried to send fax? If so you will not be able to fax. You have
to disconnect from your ISP. Then send the fax and the modem will dial the
number you are sending the fax to and connect The modem cannot dial a fax
number while connected to the internet. .
