Fax Files

XP Pro SP3 - Office 2003 Basic - Only one user (administrator) setup on this
stand alone pc.

I can open or save everything but .TIF files. This includes attachments I
received in the past before I began experiencing this issue. These files are
fax documents that until yesterday I could always open or save. No problem
with .xls, .doc or .pdf files.

When I attempt to open .TIF attachments I get the following message:

"Can not create file: FAX.TIF. Right-click the folder you want to create
the file in and then click Properties on the Shortcut menu to check your
permissions for the folder."

When I attempt to save (to my desktop, MyDocuments or anywhere) the .TIF
attachment I get the following message:

"The target you specified cannot be used as a documents folder."

Any suggestions? Help! Thanks.

Try clearing the Outlook Secure Temp folder.

When I attempt to save (to my desktop, MyDocuments or anywhere) the .TIF
attachment I get the following message:

"The target you specified cannot be used as a documents folder."

This indicates that the owner SID of the WIndows profile files and the SID of
the user do not match. What changed between when you could do this and now?
Try turning off simple file sharing and taking ownership of the Windows user's
folder.
