Can I simply move my IE Favourites folder (from my c:\documents and
settings\julia\Favourites.... to My Documents folder, without having to
change the registry or using Import\Export option in IE? The reason I want
to do this is to central all my files for back up purposes. I like to just
backup one directory and know that all important files are located in one
place.

Your advise will be appreciated.
Thank you
Julia

Probably, but it depends on the version of Windows you're running, which
you did not mention.

This works for me on Windows 2000 and should work on XP. Make sure IE
is closed. Then open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder
containing Favorites (probably C:\Documents and Settings\julia). Click
the Favorites folder and drag it where you want it to go. Windows will
automatically update the registry to point to the new location.
