My favorites menu on the start menu has quit functioning. I can open
Internet Explorer and use its favorite menu fine. I'd appreciate any
advice anyone may have.

Great tips on the Start Menu, at Kelly's site, below. One of them may
help you. Click on "S" and scroll down to ... Start Menu
