Favorites missing from Catagories

The "Favorites" button is missing from my OUTLOOK 2003. How do I get it up
on the bar with File, Edit, View, Go, etc? I've run the repair several
times and it did not help

So what did Categories have to do with your question? Just wondering.

In Outlook 2002, I would try to right-click on the toolbar, Customize,
Toolbars, select the Standard toolbar, and click Reset. That should put
the standard toolbar back to its install-time default configuration
which has the Favorites menu. Maybe it works the same way in Outlook
2003.

I tried reset on Standard and Web and it did not add the Favorites button.
Regarding "catagories" that is what is lists all those buttons (File, Edit,
View, Go, etc) under when I click "Customize"

I Googled around for some screen snapshots of Outlook 2003. How do you
know that Outlook 2003 is supposed to have a Favorites menu? How long
have you been using Outlook 2003? Have you ever seen a Favorites menu
in Outlook 2003? I don't see a Favorites menu in the snapshots of
Outlook 2003. I see a Go menu that isn't in Outlook 2002, so maybe
that's what you're supposed to use in Outlook 2003.

Outlook 2003 doesn't show the Favorites menu (that's what they're called,
menus <g>) by default like previous versions did, but you can add it. Right
click a toolbar and click Customize, then the Commands tab. On the left,
choose Menu Bar; then on the right, select Favorites and drag it up to the
Menu Bar, and drop it where you want it. Once it's there you can close out
of the Customize dialog box.

When I click on "Customize", and click the "Commands" tab, on the RIGHT is
titled "Catagories" which lists "File", "Edit" , "View", "FAVORITES", "Go",
"Tools" ect.

On the LEFT is titled "Commands" which has the commands for each catagory.
There are commands for the "Favorites", but I don't have a Favorites button
up on my bar across the top between "View" and "Go" which appears is where
it is suppose to go.
It will not let me drag and drop "Favorites" from the "Catagories" listing
onto my Outlook. I can drag and drop the items from the left column but it
doesn't do me any good to have an "add to Favorites" if I don't have a
Favorites button to begin with.

It does not let me drag and drop it onto my Menu bar. I can only drag and
drop items from the Right hand column that are the commands to the menus
listed on the Left, which is where Favorites is listed. I can not drag or
drop any of the headings such as File, Edit, View, Favorites, Go etc.

Sorry, it was the Menu Bar that you would reset. However, that won't
change the categories (or menu items) in that toolbar. You can add
actions, like Note or Folder, but the Menu Bar is pretty much fixed as
to what are its main or parent items. That's why I asked if you had
ever seen a top menu item called "Favorites" since none of the screen
snapshots that I found for Outlook 2003 show a "Favorites" menu.

You could define a new custom toolbar, called Favorites, that you could
add what you wanted to it.

It does not let me drag Favorites up into my menu bar or anywhere.

You might want to try running a Detect and Repair then...

I've run the repair many times and it does not fix it.

I'm stumped. The only other thing I can think of for you to try is to
create a new mail profile from scratch, but I am really not sure that will
help.
