The pointer to the location of the Favorites folder may have been changed or
corrupted. The location is specified in the following registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders\Favorites

Double click the Favorites key and make sure the path value points to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Favorites
(where <username> is your account name)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders\Favorites

Double click the Favorites key and make sure the path value points to:
%USERPROFILE%\Favorites

Change the paths if they are pointing to a different location.
