I'm using XP Home on a Dell 4600, MSN as my ISP. I've been trying to backup
or copy my Favorites list and have asked everyone I know, including MSN
Support, how to do it but no one kows. I did this earlier this year and the
list is on My Documents but the ones I've added since then aren't there and
I'd like to renew the list...just in case MSN loses them like they lost my
Archives a few months ago.
An MSN "Tech" told me how to do it the hard way...one at a time...but that
would take more time than I have left on this planet.
I've been totally unable to remember how the heck I did it and would surely
appreciate it if one of you folks knew the "How to" answer.

AFAIK they are in the \Documents and Settings\%username%\Favorites folder,
where %username% is the users name ;)

Hope it helps?

Documents and Settings? Nope...not there. The only Favorites there are some
junk Dell stuff put on here when I bought the computer. Thanks anyhow.

Bob

I too have a Dell 4600 with folders for: 1) All users 2) Default user and 3)
David 1.

All users-->Favourites shows the Dell stuff. David1-->Favourites show my
true links.

How is your computer set up?

Bob,

Do you mean the favorites in IE? If so use the import/export function under
the file button in IE.
..

Hi Bob,

Unless I misunderstand your question, you can go to files in your browser
and choose "Import and Export" and send the favorites to whatever disk/drive
you want.

FWIW, JAX

Demon: No, I mean the Favorites in MSN Explorer. If MSN used Internet
Explorer instead of MSN Explorer, you're right, I could just Copy them and be
done with it. BTW, I just received another reply from MSN Support in which
they say there is no way to copy the Favorites all at once...but I did it
earlier this year so I know it is. Just can't remember!! Doggone it!

Hi JAX. My Browser is IE but my ISP is MSN and they don't use IE,
apparently, because my Favorites is not there. If I could Copy them from MSN
Explorer to IE, I could get it done but I know of no way to do that.
MSN Techs have told me twice that it isn't possible but I know it is because
I've done it once...but can't remember how. I'm hoping that one of the guys

Hi again Bob,

If you open IE, on the file menu, you will see "Import and Export". Click it
and a "Wizard" will open and offer you the opportunity to import "Favorites"
from another application. Look at it carefully and I'm pretty sure you will
find the option to "Import" the favorites from MSN.

LOL, JAX

JAX, I did just that and found that the only places from which I could import
Favorites were places on my hard drive...mostly in My Documents.

Bob

Thanks Doug. This looks like it may work and I'll give it a try as soon as I
figure out how to do it.

Bob

Hi Doug: I've been trying this export link and it didn't work so well. I
got to the "db" folder but it contained 8 items, none of which was the
Favorites List. I don't know if he made an error in instructions, or what.
I'll keep messing with it and see what comes up. Thanks again.

Bob
