favicons

I have a rather strange problem with the little icons in my Favorites list. The "eBay" icon has replace several of the other icons in my Favorites list. And even though I have thrown out the shortcuts and rebooted the system to clear out the cache when I log into those sites, like the Hubble Telescope, they still display the "eBay' favicon. Obviously the favicons are being stored somewhere in the system.
Any suggestions on how to correct this?

There are in your cache. I don't know why rebooting should clear it.
The usual way to clear your cache:
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

Manually clear IE's cache (TIF), then restart IE. If that doesn't fix it,
search your hd for a file named "ShellIconCache" -- delete it, then reboot.
