Favicons

I'm looking for information on how to save the vanishing icons (favicons).
I've got some good information from these discussion groups and understand
why they disapear. I also found a link
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm - FavesTOGO. The only problem
with FavesTOGO is the readme file says for platforms: Windows 95, Windows 98,
Windows ME, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000. No mention of WinXP sp2 which I have.
Does anyone know if it will work with WinXP? Does anyone know of another the
will work?
Thanks,

The program you want to use is the "FavOrg - Restore and Save Favorite Icons" which is in the right side column on line 108 of that same website. It works very well with XP.

I wanted to add some more things I've tried. I also tried to find the
favicons in temp file so I could put them in another file, but I can't find
them. I tried doing a search .ico and favicon and looking in temp internet
file with no luck. Also, Im using IE7 and am talking about 'desktop' icons or
favicons.
Thanks again

IE7 is Beta. Questions about it should be directed to the Internet
Explorer newsgroup.

If you want to backup Favorites choose Export favorites. The wizard with
save the user favorites to the My Documents folder as bookmark.htm. Or a
choice to browse to a location of your choice.

You are wasting your time and bandwidth replying with attachments to
someone who is using the web interface. The web interface ignores
them.

As do many, if not most, of us using a newsreader. ;-)

Ronnie, pardon me for getting in on this thread, but I have had problems even
with FavOrg. I completed the FavOrg download and installation and everything
yesterday and was happy when I saw my favicons where they should be on
desktop. But this morning, I booted up and the e's were back.

This tells me I set up FavOrg incorrectly but have no idea how to do it
right. Can you help? For reference, see my question "favorite icons not
appearing in IE6". Malke, as usual, was a great help. Check my last reply
entered today at about 830 a.m.
Thanks, Mike
