Favicon with a PDF link

I'm redoing a web site. I have gotten the favicon to show on all pages (at
least in Firefox) except for the page that is a hyperlinked PDF file.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I would add the code so that the favicon
shows here, or is this even possible?

A favicon won't show when a PDF is opened in the browser because it is actually opened in adobe acrobat
reader.
