Where does IE store FAVICONs? Is there a temp folder I
can grab them from? I notice that when I delete history
and files, they go away.

Google.com search [favicon]

How to Add a Shortcut Icon to a Web Page (Internet
Explorer)
One way is to save the icon with the default file name of
favicon.ico in the root
directory of your domain-for example,
www.microsoft.com/favicon.ico
msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/Author/
dhtml/howto/ShortcutIcon.asp
----------------------------------------------------------
---------------
These are known as favicons.ico (Favorite Icons)
and they normally will only last until your Temp
Internet files are cleared.

This program will allow you to save the favicons.ico
(Favorite Icons) permanently in a different folder
and re-associate your favorites with the stored icons.

FavOrg - Restore and Save Favorite Icons (Line 108)

Also try FavIoncizer:
target=favicons"

It will actually find about a third more than
FavOrg does (since it checks for referenced URL's),
but lacks some of the other cababilites of FavOrg

FavOrg 1.4:

I simply locate them in Temporary Internet Files, right-click on, and select
Copy in resulting menu. Then paste in a separate known folder for these.
Can rename to give an idea of what they're for. I then appropriately assign
to shortcuts or files/folders using Browse in "Change Icon" dialog box.
