Favicon does not show in https?

We use a favicon on our clients website. It works fine in a staging
environment but not in the production site that is completely in https. Is
this a know issue? Or is there another reason it isn't showing? Nothing is
different between the two sites.

If you want the site to be indexed by search engines, the home page, at a minimum can not be
accessed via https only.

We don't want this site to be indexed because it is an internet application
for clients only. I should have been more specific and described it as the
login page to this application. The clients want users to be able to
bookmark the login page (https) and see the favicon.

Check the server stat file and see if it is being requested via https?

Have you considered making the login page available via http and not https, and then when the user
has successfully logged in, switch them to https?

You may also want to check, IE Tools | Internet Options | Advanced | Security and see if "Do not
save encrypted pages to disk" setting has any impact.

great thanks, i will check all of that out. the decision about https was
made by the software engineers. I'm more of a front-end with a touch of
middle tier type.
