Faulty W2000 instal

Hi, I was installing W200 on a new hard drive and it
faile during installation (blue screen). I resinstalled
and it is now working but I have bothe copies showing when
I boot up andthe first oen still fails. Somem of the
programs and files seem to be registered against one copy
and the others against theother - some against both! How
do I remove the duff copy safel;y without losing data
stored on the PC through the wokring copy? Any ideas
please?

Open Control Panel. System | Advanced | Startup and Recovery. Uncheck the box, "Display list of Operating Syatems for." Keep the
default OS above unchanged. You will not be given a choice at the next boot up. At this point, reinstall your apps to this
installation. You should have 2 WINNT folders with one renamed sligthly. One you will need the other you won't. The system folder
for the dead OS should have an earlier date and a smaller size when you check the Properties. When you've safely determined which
is the system folder for the working OS and which isn't, you can delete the system folder for the non-working OS. Next you Program
Files directory may have a mishmash of the two OS's, might just want to leave that alone unless disk space gets critical.
