Fatal error when using inbox repair tool

I get "Fatal Error: 80040900" in the .log file when trying to run the
SCANPST.EXE Inbox Repair Tool for Outlook to repair a corrupted .PST file.
Any idea what this means? It seems to occur during phase 4 of 8; the tool
stops running and the corrupted .pst file is left intact.

Michael,

I experienced this problem only to find that PST files are limited to 2Gb.
Go to the Microsoft download site and search for an outlook download file
called PST2GB, which enables you to truncate the PST file with some loss of
data.
Better than losing all access to the data.
