fatal error using sysprep

I have just spent a number of days setting up an image for
deployment to a number of laptops.
I am now getting the error decribed in K Base article
818171.
DOes anyone know how I can get around having to rebuild
the image??????
 
First of all have you got all the latest SP's and Windows
updates?

Also how did you build the imgae, was it from a new
install of XP?

Thirdly, what options did you tick in Sysprep?
