My Platform:

HP Pavilion 713c (Pentium 4 @3.06GHz, 1GB DDR SDRAM, 200GB Hard Drive)
HP DVD Writer 200j
Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616F
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Build 2600.xpsp1.020828-1920(Service
Pack 1)
Norton Personal Firewall 2006
Norton AntiVirus 2005
Netscape 7.1
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
Earthlink ADSL

My Question:

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 digital camera using a Sandisk 512MB SD
card. The camera formats this card as FAT.

See the following:

Properties:
http://home.mindspring.com/~tomcom/FAT/FAT_Flash_Card.jpg

I have a Simpletech Flashlink ALLinONE USB Reader.

The card inserts OK and is recognized by Windows.

See the following:

Contents:
http://home.mindspring.com/~tomcom/FAT/FAT_Flash_Card_Contents.jpg

but when I attempt to open either of the folders I receive the following
error:

http://home.mindspring.com/~tomcom/FAT/FAT_Flash_Card_Error.jpg

Any suggestions will be appreciated. TIA.

10,000 comedians out of work and you are futilely attempting to be
funny. Change "question" to "problem" and see if that helps you to
offer a logical, meaningful and productive suggestion.

Maybe you need to install SP2 and the subsequent updates. You might also
look at the date of the driver in Device Manager and update it if there
is a newer driver available on the Simpletech web site.

A pound of FAT equals 3500 calories

Yet another comedian; and not very smart at that. Apparently knows
nothing about: my question/problem(can't provide a productive suggestion
so futilely attempts to joke about it), news group posting etiquette(a
top poster) and conversions/math(1 ounce = 28.3495 grams. 1 gram of FAT
= 9 calories. 1 pound = 16 ounces. 9 * 28.3495 * 16 = 4082.328
calories, NOT 3500).

Obviously; the I in "Bob I" doesn't equate to Intelligent. Perhaps
Imbecile or Idiot.

TIAFN. That is an acronym(a word (as NATO, radar, or snafu) formed from
the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major
parts of a compound term) for Thanks In Advance For Nothing.

My reply to you that you didn't answer (I guess you were too busy
calling people idiots or imbeciles):

In that vein, "TC" obviously stands for Totally Clueless. Ask a question
or move along.

perhaps the sandisk and the simpletech are not compatible. Otherwise i
would contact Panasonic about the error message.

I apologize. This problem had me frustrated and I guess I had my
feathers ruffled. Normally; I have a sense of humor and don't allow
anything to get under my skin. I guess the combination of Plato and you
did it. Sorry.

I had already contacted Panasonic; to no avail.

I had already checked the Simpletech website and this model reader does
not require a 3rd party driver for WinXP.

This reader is compatible with the Sandisk SD card, but apparently not
with the Panasonic format.

Also; I have an HP Photosmart 375 printer, which reads the card fine.

I purchased and connected a Sandisk ImageMate 5 in 1 Reader and it works
fine.

Also;

NP, glad to hear the issue is resolved, enjoy the pictures and be sure
to punch a back up copy off in a safe place!
