Faster Viewing Possible?

Hello

I login to win2K3 server using RDP remote admin mode using a 2MB connection.
Working speed is upto the expectation except for opening any PICTURES or
IMAGES (JPGs). it takes lot of time to diaplay the picture. Same with
browning the net with animations.

Is there a way to increase this speed?
I tried bitmap compression and it doesn't help.

Will instaling termination services in application mode do any help?

TIA

Why would you open images/browse the web (especially with animation) from
the remote computer and not your local one?

If you setup the Remote Desktop client correctly - you have the ability to
copy images from the remote machine to the local machine via My Computer on
the remote machine and you can browse the web much more effectively on your
local machine than on the remote... ;-)

BTW - is that 2MB down? What is the upstream speed?

actually, few of our executive "on the move" work on this server and they
sometime need to open the JPG documents, etc.

I actually thought there will be something to enable on the TS server. my
down speed is 2MB and up is 512KBs.
All other windows open very quickly and why the JPGs takes a lot of time to
load and show?
(After all, all GUI are grpahics (except animation), right?

server is dell PE4400 and 4GB RAM with 100MB to net

you can set the bit depth in the client lower which will make it much faster,
but it may make it to where the picture qualitiy is not that great. Kind of
depends on what kind of quailitiy the users require.
