It varies, based on feedback and my personal experience its about the same
or slower. Vista x64 took about 40 mins, Vista x86 took about 75 mins.

32-Bit system:
3.2 GHz HT Pentium 4
2.6GBs of RAM
Geforce FX 5200 128 MB AGP
20 GB Partition

64-Bit system:
1.6 GHz Sempron
512 MBs of RAM
Geforce FX 5200 128 MB AGP
20 GB Partition

So it varies very much depending on system and platform you choose. These
are also staged builds which are said to be faster. I suspect by BETA 2 we
should see some improvement in terms of performance for the install routine.

It sure as hell is faster on my machine

AMD Athlon X2 64 3800+
2GB RAM
....

I would say that the installation of the latest build of Windows Vista is
about 50% faster than the installation of Windows XP Professional with SP2
