When I go to log into my account on XP. There is a
message that tells me I have 1 unread e-mail. I do not
have an unread e-mail. How do i get rid of this message?

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its repair mail count feature or
use it to turn the mail count off completely.

Or edit the registry and delete the mail accounts you don't want:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
