Fast Switching in XP Home Edition

I have a machine running XP Home and I used to be able to
use my fast switching. It has since stopped working and
when I try to turn it on, I get a message to the effect
that another program that I have installed hs disabled
this feature. Has anyone else heard of or had this
problem? I have the basic software with the addition of
VisualStudio.NET, Visio Pro 2002, MS Project 2002. HELP
