I have drives in "My Computer" that do not physically exist in my computer. I
do not have an A drive yet Vista shows one there. I have a DVD drive and a
hard drive yet Vista shows 6 drives. My hard drive is not partitioned. How do
I get rid of the "Fantom" drives?

Right Click on My Computer (under the start menu it is just listed as
"Computer") and choose "Manage". Go to the device manager, expand Floppy
Drives then right click on the child floppy drive and choose uninstall.

Can't say about the other 3 you have as you didn't describe what they are or
how they are described. Do you have a memory card reader or a printer with
a card reader installed in it?

Hi,

A: may be there because the system BIOS is reporting a floppy drive, you
might try disabling detection there.

As to the others, did you install any CD/DVD software that included the
ability to emulate drives (eg: features the ability to run a program from
the hard drive rather than from disk)?
