Fans not turning on new computer with Asus motheboard

Hi

I have just bought a new computer and added some stuff myself (Hard Drives
etc)

The motherboard is an Asus and there are programs supplied including
'Probe'.

When I activate the program, I get two alarms because apparently, the
chassis and power fans are turning under the minimum threshold of 600.

In fact, they are not turning at all according to the software.

Is this because the computer is not very warm or should the two fans always
turn at least at the minimum threshold speed?

Or is the minimum threshold speed just a setting for the alarms?

I've emailed Asus but have not had a reply.

Thanks

Some fans do not have a wire to tell the motherboard what speed they are
running at, others change their speed according to the temperature
around the fan. If you can see that the fans are indeed working and the
temperatures in the case are not too high I would turn off the fan
alarms. Personally, I do not use Probe as I had too many problems with
it. I currently use Speedfan which does a better job of monitoring
everything and does not have the "stupid" minimum RPM settings.
