Fancy console output

Is it possible to alter the look of the text in a console app such as it's
colour etc? If not can anything think of a way/product that lets me have a
console-type app with different coloured text?

The Framework 2.0 allows you do that. In the 1.0 and 1.1 you can use the
Windows API to do the same.

Color, cursor positioning, etc., and if the console is redirected to a file,
it behaves reasonably.
