Fan constantly running, laptop feels hot

I have had this HP Compaq 6720 laptop for approximately two years. Due to numerous problems as well as my laptop not recognizing my 3G card, we deleted and re-installed everything on the laptop. (Company laptop) I'm not at home for the next three weeks, but have found that the fan is basically running continuously and the laptop feels hot where the power supply enters

Any advice, or anything to check before I take it back to the agent?

I would be more worried if the fan wasn't working all the time. As for the laptop getting hot. What sort of surface is it on ? Are you using it on a desk ot actually on your lap ? Are the vents/airways free to breath ? It is pretty normal for it to get quite hot though...

You could download and install Everest Home and monitor the temps of the laptop...
