Can anyone recommend some good, free fan speed and temperature monitoring
software? Google yields several, but I'd appreciate a recommendation.
Thank you.

Thank you.

Why don't you list what you found on Google and find out if anyone has
experience with any of them??

Speedfan (almico.com) is actively supported.

The http://www.cpuid.com site has some utilities
you can play with.

And some of the retail motherboard makers, include
utilities for that purpose (PCProbe, uGuru and
the like).

There are more specialized utilities, like CoreTemp.

I'd give Speedfan a try first.

Motherboard Monitor development has been discontinued for several
years now. With newer motherboards, it might not work.

:Speedfan is OK. Takes a bit of tweaking though.

I'm late to this discussion, but I use Everest Home Edition (Google
it to find out more). Click on Sensor under the heading Computer
to get the data you want.

I have also been succesfully in using Rivatuner with their C2DTemp
plug in. I am able to seem the temps / fans not only for my
motherboard but also my nVidia based video card.
