Famous days calendar import

I am in an elementary school and we run a small inhouse TV studio. I
like to feature author birthdays, and have spent a couple years
collecting them into Outlook. I'd also like to have a "famous days"
calendar, or "on this date in history," or "It's national eat a pickle
day" stuff. You know, all that stuff kids find interesting.

Knowing how long it took to compile children's authors, I am hesitant
to start something this large, and was wondering if you knew of any
sources that already existed for this.

What version of Outlook? I'd search for icalendar or ical and keywords for
the type of events you are looking for. A favorite place of mine is
icalshare.com.

http://www.slipstick.com/emo/2009/up090219.htm#3 has links for lunar, tides,
and weather calendars.
