False positive hardware change.

I come back from work and turn on my computer to check my mail, and Vista
tells me that I have new hardware installed and must reactivate. Any idea
why Vista is detecting hardware changes that never happened? I don't want to
have to call MS activation support everytime I turn on my computer.

help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

You shouldn't have to, but I have seen this happen when a driver has been
updated. Did you happen to notice any indication that one was? You can, of
course, reactivate over the phone if necessary (though it shouldn't be).

Same happened to me but it was after a Microsoft update. The good news is
that it has not happened since.

Imagine that! Simply get a new driver and then have to grovel to Microsoft
for permission to continue using your computer with an "operating system"
you've already paid for. Unbelievable that users are prepared to put up
with that madness.

Doris is at times, delusional. Last week she thought she had a staring
role in an upcoming movie.
Not even Rock could console her when she realized she didn't.
Best to humor her in these situations.

No idea what that is???? I'm a "Most Valuable Player" ... it's a football
term. See the header of this post. It says it there.

In Doris case, she is deliberately attempting to deceive the unaware.
Perhaps jealousy is her motive.
No reasonable person would attempt to impersonate something they did
not like.

As of a few years ago there is no public comprehensive list of all
MVPs.
If an MVP chooses not to make the information public, then you will
find nothing about that MVP on Microsoft's website.
Any information on Microsoft's website about an MVP is there because
the MVP place it there or authorized the placement.

looks like it isn't happening again. for now. wonder what will 'cause it to
happen. I'd love to nail it down so I can prevent it in the future.

the system didn't tell me which hardware was changed.

You mean like Doris impersonating Doris? Makes you wonder why most of
the linux loser trolls are afraid to post using their real names? Who or
what are they afraid of or hiding from?
A strange group indeed and obviously very jealous of Vista to be
spending so much of their time in a Vista ng. Makes it seem like maybe
Urbuttoo is not that satisfying after all!

If you don't respond to these people they will go away and we will have a
higher percentage of meaningful posts...this kind of stuff steers serious
posters away as there is too much noice for their worthwhile...
