False Alert: A Change to the Restrict Anonymous Access Requires Approval

Hi!

I get the following false alert:
"A Change to the Restrict Anonymous Access Requires Approval"

In fact nobody and no program is trying to change the Restrict Anonymous in
this moment.

The truth is:
I had changed the Restrict Anonymous to
"2 - No access without explicit anonymous permissions"
like it was recommended by the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyser.

If I follow the recommendation of the false alert of Microsoft AntiSpyware
the Restrict Anonymous would be reseted to 1 (default), which is less
secure.
So Microsoft AntiSpyware gives us a bad advice in this case.

Cheers,
Tobias

I've seen this one myself, and scratched my head over it. I've only seen it
on a couple of machines which were Windows 2000, upgraded to XP. In XP, the
meaning of this registry key is different, as I recall--this is explained
well by the Baseline Security analyzer help file, I think.

I agree that there's something wrong with this alert, and if I can figure
out how to reproduce it once a further beta is dropped, I'll complain more
loudly.

Yes, you are right. I forgot to mention, that I work under Windows 2000.
I don't know the behavior under Windows XP.
