Failure to send error 0x80070057

Help! I have set up outlook to view my Googlemail account but cannot send
keep getting the above arror and message saying parameters not correct. I
have checked my settings and they are as instructed. I notice several other
threads with similar errors but reading them hasn't helped.

And what is the COMPLETE error message that includes error 0x800770057. Can you post
it in it's complete form

If you had correctly configured the account, I would have expected the
account to be named "(e-mail address removed)", since the default for Outlook is to
create the account with the mail address as its name. Exactly how did you
create this account? My guess is you tried to create an HTTP account, which
won't work for Google Mail.
 
Thank you for your reply I have now found out why. I set up the account as
the instructions in Googlemail, however somehow it set up two accounts and I
was using the wrong account (www.googlemail.com) the other account was
pop.googlemail.com and sellecting this as default solved my problem. Many
thanks again.
