Fading sound

I am running Powerpoint 2003 SP2.

I want to fade out a long MP3 music track at the end of my shorter duration
slide.

Can I do this?
 
You can't fade a music in PowerPoint. You will need to use a sound editor.

You can download Audacity for free, which is a free sound editor. Check out
Audacity at: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
