F8 key not working to select and highlight text. Any ideas?

My F8 'select text' key is not working. I am able to mouse-over text and it
will highlight, but the key itself is not working. I just purchased this
keyboard a few days ago, and it works well. This has happened on previous
keyboards too, but have no idea how the problem corrects itself. Really need
to know since I am a medical transcriptionist and my productivity is greatly
compromised without this hot key working. Thanks.

I suspect you are asking in the wrong place. This newsgroup is for the
database software Microsoft Access, not for hardware or Windows
questions. I'd suggest asking in a Windows newsgroup appropriate to
your version of Windows.

If it's a new Microsoft keyboard, doublecheck that your "F Lock" key
is set appropriately - the new keyboards use the F-keys for two
different functions, toggling between the usual F-key behavior and Web
functions using the F Lock.
