I want to completely wipe my hard drive... is FDisk the
only way? And, I heard FDisk wasn't recommended. Please
advise.

FDISK will definitely wipe your hard drive completely, if that's what you
want. I did it on my Dell P2 last week.

A less drastic approach is to use FORMAT on each partition, in which case
you won't have to reconstruct any partitions.

You can also reinstall or repair Windows without losing all your other
stuff.

Boot from the Windows XP CD, and you may delete partitions and create new
ones and format all during the first part of setup.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
