EZ Photo won't stop bothering me

My Microsoft Word 2000 9.0.3821 SR-1 works okay, but
there is one little problem: EZ Photo.

I type up documents like any person would in Word, and
whether or not I included any photos or clip art in my
document, whenever I close Word, it says "Would you like
to save the changes to EZ photo?"

I click no, and Word closes. The next time I open Word,
there is a little "EZP" button in the standard toolbar.
After a few days the toolbar has a row of little EZPs
that I have no intention of using.

I know if I go to View>toolbars> and then reset them to
normal it zaps the EZPs on my screen, but Word still
bothers me about saving the changes to EZ Photo.

How can I get Word to:
*shut up about EZ Photo whenever I close it?
*stop putting EZP's on my toolbar?

Somewhere on your computer you have the EZ-Photo application (probably
installed by a scanner or other hardware). This software adds an add-in to
Word's Startup folder, and the add-in adds the button(s) to your toolbar.

Unfortunately, the add-in was written for Word 95 and doesn't function
properly with later versions, so you need to remove it. Once you've done
this, you can remove any and all EZP buttons from Word using Tools |
Customize. The files you're looking for (to delete) are Ezpwll32.wll,
Ezphoto.wll, Ezpwll.wll, and Ezpwll16.wll. You'll need to display Hidden and
System files in order to find these using Windows Find/Search.

Note that it should *not* be necessary to rename Normal.dot as this article
suggests; this will remove all your customizations, and the only reason I
can see for doing it is to remove the EZP buttons, which you can easily do
yourself.
