Hi, I am creating a chart using data from various pivot tables. In
order to do this I am creating a data table using data extracted from
the data tables upon which I will base my chart. In order to take the
data from the pivot table I create a formula by typing = then going to
the pivot table cell that I want. So far so good... however, is there
a way that I can drag this formula across to pick up the next cell and
the next etc (just like if you were doing a formula within excel)
rather than having to create a new formula for each cell that I want to
pickup?

Hi Laura

Try removing the $ signs from the cell reference and then dra

Hi,

This depends on what version of Excel you are using. I know that in
Excel 2003 if I link a cell to a field in the pivot table it
automatically creates the GETPIVOTDATA formula.

If your using Excel 2000 or later I would just make a Pivot Chart as it
will just be quicker for you.

When you link to a pivot table cell in Excel 2002 or later version, a
GetPivotData formula is automatically created, instead of a normal link.

There are instructions here for adding the Generate GetPivotData button
to a toolbar, and toggling the feature on and off:
