?? Extracting a ZIP File SLOW ??

As you probably know, XP has native support for compressing and
uncompressing ZIP files. I've tred to use this feature many times
and every time it seems unblelievable slow, making it essentially
useless.

I have a 33MB ZIP file that takes XP over an hour to uncompress
while WinZip take about 10 seconds.

Why is this? Has anyone else ever experienced this problem? This
is not the first time this has happened, so it's definitely not
the zip file that's to blame.

Thanks...

I would try reregistering the zip files DLL

start/run, type:

REGSVR32 ZIPFLDR.DLL

And why should I do that? The problem is NOT that XP cannot Zip/Unzip. The
problem is that it takes about 1,000 times longer for XP to do it than
WinZip. And so how is your suggestion going to fix that?
