Extra Effects & Transitions in MM2

Are there any extra effects and/or transitions that can
be downloaded and then put onto clips in MM2 for free?

There are some Christmas effects that you can get from Microsoft. I am not
certain, I think PIXELAN give away a few free effects (See the links on my

Hello there,

The Links menu is obtained by click "Links" on the left side of the
screen. As we are talking about Video, once you reach the Links menu click
on Video

I would suggest you to visit http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/ particularly
the Forum area.

On those forums I have contributed a few custom transitions and effects over
the last few months in response to some requests. Currently I am running a
beta test for my pan & zoom effects:

But many other are distributed all over the forum. (do a search).

There's a free _something_ on Microsoft's web site - it's one of the XP
PowerToys. I downloaded and installed it (24Mb) but haven't played around to
find out what kind of effects it has.

This page has links to all of the "Creativity Fun Packs" for XP, including
one that lets you use a video as a screensaver.
