External USB HardDrive not noticed after reboot or coming out of sleep

Well the subject line says it all.... I havent installed any rogue
software lately and my Microsoft updates are up to date.. Anti Virus
and Spyware definitions are up to date and ran recently w/ no
problems.

I have XP Pro.

Also have other USB products plugged in and have no problem with
those...

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I have fixed similar issues with USB devices. Perhaps the auto detect
registry key is corrupted. Try downloading and running the "AutoRuns"
utility found here.
