External USB DRIVE

Hey guys,
Quick question,
I just picked up a new external drive (200GB) that connects to my computer
via USB 2.0.
I ran it on my laptop and it works fine (win XP).

Then I tried on my desktop and no luck.
I have windows XP and 2 internal hard drives, I think that might be the
problem.
When I power on the external drive, the computer automatically reboots
itself.
What can I do ?
How can I go about this problem?

Thanks,
Sonia

The drive may be conflicting with one of the ones in the desktop computer.
Did the USB drive come with an installation disk, and some instructions?

Did you contact the vendor, or the manufacture of the drive, for a possible
easy solution?

Did you try to do a Google (or whatever) search for your problem?

You should mention the model of your USB drive.
