External laptop Monitor

I have a laptop with an external monitor attached. The computer must be re
booted to get the monitor active. (The laptop display goes blank.) When
disconnected, the Laptop display remains blank.

Is there a key combination to switch between monitors? Any suggestions on
reactivating the attached monitor?

With most laptops it is the Fn Key + F7 Key that switches monitor modes. none - laptop - monitor -
both (or in some order like that) You should find this information in your monitor manual.
