External IBM hitachi Travelstar USB HDD - no drive letter

I have a 80GB hitachi Travelstar in a USB HDD Case. my system does
recognise it as USB Mass storage but doesnot assign a drive letter.
When I do in disk management i don't see this drive.
Start>Control Panel.>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk
Management

shows on the primary C drive.

any clues whts the problem?

You can assign it a drive letter using TweakUI. Assign one way down the
alphabet. It's common that the drive will appear in Device Manager but not
show up elsewhere. The brand of the drive or external case doesn't matter.
MS acknowledges that this is a problem and there are several fixes which
don't always work.

TweakUI doesnt let me assign a drive letter. maybe i got the wrong
TweakUI

resolved - needed to connected the usb case to the external power
supply.
