I've got a Maxtor 200GB external HD. I used it to store anime video
files and had used ~100GB. A week ago, I renamed the drive with no
problems. Tonight when I go to move some files over to this drive, it
is MIA in Windows Explorer. I rebooted my computer and the drive
shows up, but in an unformatted state. The device manager recognizes
the drive as a 200GB HD, but does not show it as being formatted.
First, what the heck could have caused this?
Second, is there a way to fix this problem or am I just going to have
to reformat the drive and lose my data?
