External Floppy

I have added an external floppy drive to my XP laptop. I can access it from
"My Computer" but cannot make an icon on my desk top or drag the icon from
My computer to the desk top. Is that normal for an external floppy drive or
is it possible to do it?

You should be able to just create a new shortcut on the desktop and refer it
to a:\ or whatever drive letter the floppy is assigned to.
