Yes, external drives work with Vista.. instructions should be supplied with
the external drive..

Not true, I have an External eSATAII drive that worked under XP2SP2, then
after the upgrade to Vista it just disappeared. Using the lastest Drivers,
etc and still will not work with Vista.

If you used a usb drive enclosure then what you were able to do is
irrelevant to William's post. He is using eSATA.
