Many files within the Windows and application folders are not intended to
be opened directly by users. Instead, applications find and utilize them as
needed.

There is no one master list of file extensions because logically such a
list cannot exist. The sites that maintain info on file extensions are
useful for a general reference, however a programmer can use any extensions
that they desire within their applications. It's very possible that the
info at a file extension site may not apply to the files on *your* system.

I've seen *.ISU files on systems with Norton products installed but other
software might create them too. Could be wrong but am thinking that they
contain setup info that may be necessary for installing, updating, changing
components and/or uninstalling.
