extend time of sounds

Is there a way to extend the amount of time a sound can
play like at startup. I know its trivial but any advice
will be appreciated.

Hi Lou,

See if this applies/helps:

It has to do with size rather than length. Use as an example this .wav
stopped at 13 seconds.

A .wav encoded at CD quality (44kHz, 16-bit stereo), size 5.21MB, plays for
13 seconds. Saved at radio quality (22kHz, 8-bit mono), size 668KB, plays
in full.
